FC Lokomotiv Moscow moved six points clear after beating city rivals PFC CSKA Moscow 1-0.

FC Lokomotiv Moscow went six points clear at the top of the Premier-Liga after beating city rivals PFC CSKA Moscow 1-0 this afternoon.

Buznikin denied
Lokomotiv started strongly and were unlucky not to take the lead in the 18th minute when Maksim Buznikin's shot was deflected centimetres wide of the post. Just before the interval Vladimir Maminov was denied by an excellent save from CSKA's Azerbaijani international goalkeeper Dmitri Kramarenko.

Winning strike
Lokomotiv continued to press during the second half and were rewarded in the 57th minute when Dmitri Loskov hit an unstoppable volley into the bottom corner of the net. The impressive Kramarenko was then forced to make a number of important saves as Lokomotiv sought to extend their lead.

Seeing red
After keeping out efforts from James Obiorah and Jacob Lekgetho, the match swung the other way as Lokomotiv were reduced to ten men in the 78th minute when Ruslan Pimenov was sent off for a tackle on Denis Evsikov. Despite their numerical advantage, however, CSKA were unable to capitalise.
