Four-year deal
Mönchengladbach signed the 25-year-old tonight for a fee of €500,000 on a four-year contract. Van Hout has arrived from Belgian first division team RSC Anderlecht.

Change of heart
Mönchengladbach coach Christian Hochstaetter had already held discussions with Van Hout two weeks ago and appeared to have persuaded the player to sign, but when Anderlecht brought in new coach Hugo Broos, Van Hout said that he wanted to remain in Belgium, before changing his mind again today.
