Hammarby IF FF were surprisingly beaten 2-1 at home by Landskrona BoIS on Thursday.

Champions Hammarby IF FF were given a shock tonight when they were beaten 2-1 at home by newly-promoted Landskrona BoIS, a result which leaves the visitors top of the Allsvenskan.

Champions struggle
Landskrona, who are yet to lose in eight games this season, took the lead through striker Alexander Farnerud in the 69th minute. Hammarby surged forward as they searched for an equaliser, but they were caught on the break just three minutes later when Farnerud's strike partner Danijel Milovanovic got his name on the scoresheet.

Striking back
Hammarby did strike back three minutes later when Peter Markstedt found the net, but the visitors held firm to take maximum points and remain three points clear at the top-flight summit. Hammarby stay ninth, ten points off the pace.

Malmö second
Second-placed Malmö FF are hot on the heels of Landskrona after a 2-1 defeat of Halmstads BK. Hans Mattisson put Malmö ahead in the 14th minute only to see his effort cancelled out by Martin Ekström's 22nd-minute equaliser. Peter Ijeh claimed maximum points for the home side, though, with a goal 14 minutes from time.

Drawing a blank
Elsewhere, lowly IFK Norrköping failed to lift themselves from the lower echelons of the table after they were held to a goalless draw at home by GIF Sundsvall.
