FC Dynamo Kyiv have appointed Ihor Surkis as their new club president in what has been a busy week for the Ukrainian giants.
Swift appointment
Surkis, 44, the younger brother of former Dynamo supremo and current Football Federation of Ukraine president Grigory, swiftly secured the services of Olexiy Mykhailychenko as team coach.
Crimean tour
The Dynamo squad are currently in the Crimea, preparing for the opening game of the new season against FC Metalist Kharkiv on 7 July. The team has been boosted by the arrivals of Ihor Skoba and Olezandr Radchenko, both from FC Zakarpattya Uzhgorod, ahead of the 2002/03 UEFA Champions League. Dynamo begin their European campaign with a tie against either Tampere United FC or FC Pyunik in the second qualifying round.
