Scifo steps down at Charleroi

R. Charleroi SC coach Enzo Scifo has resigned after two years with the Jupiler League club.

Disappointing results
The 36-year-old former Belgium international took over at the start of the 2000/01 season but has failed to transform the struggling side into a major force in the Belgian top flight. He guided them to 13th in the table last season.

Boardroom shake-up
Scifo, who won 84 caps for Belgium, has also decided to sell all his shares in the club and relinquish his role as vice-president. This hands all the power back to club president Abbas Bayat, who now has an absolute majority on the board. The club have not revealed any possible candidates for the coaching job.
