Borisov miss their chance
While Torpedo dominated the early stages, they could count themselves lucky to claim a point from Borisov. The visitors wasted eight clear chances on Valery Shantalosov's goal, with Oleg Strahanovich the chief culprit. He missed three one-on-one opportunities. However, the result kept Torpedo two points clear of Borisov in second place.
Dinamo win thriller
Elsewhere, FC Dinamo Minsk thrashed FC Zvezda-VA-BGU Minsk 6-3 to go sixth in the table. Dinamo scored four times in the first 36 minutes through Vitaly Ledenev, Viktor Sokol, Petr Kachuro and Vitaly Volodenko. But Zvezda revived to register through Dmitry Maker (2) and Dmitry Rubnenko. However, further strikes from Andrey Poryvaev and Andrey Seregin brought the hosts victory.
Shakhtior on the rise
Shakhtior Soligorsk moved up to seventh spot after a 3-0 home win over FC Dnepr-Transmash Mogilev. Dmitry Podrez, Alexander Novik and Sergey Nikiforenko were the scorers. FC Dinamo Brest beat a pointless Lokomotiv-96 Vitebsk 5-0, while FC Torpedo Zhodino went third with a 2-0 success against FC Molodechno 2000.
Champions lose
FC Neman-Belcard Grodno are fourth following their 1-0 triumph over reigning champions FC Belshina Bobruisk who are in freefall. While FC Slavia Mozyr's 2-0 home defeat by local rivals FC Gomel left them second from bottom in the division.
