Perfect response
It was the perfect response from the hosts after watching rivals FC Sheriff Tiraspol take the Divizia Nationala title last night. Rock-bottom Happy End were no match for the second-placed side and were trailing by five goals at the break.
Double figures
Iulian Arhire (13), Lado Akhalaia (17), Denis Calincov (20), Boris Cebotari (30) and Victor Berco's 39th-minute penalty had the game sewn up by half-time for Zimbru. Iurie Osipenco added number six, two minutes into the second half before Cebotari (61) and Berco (77) scored their second goals of the day. Levan Gvazava added number nine in the 81st minute before Viorel Frunze put the scoreline into double figures seven minutes from time.
Joy for Hincesti
In today's other game, goals from Dumitru Gusila (48) and Anatol Doros (83) cancelled out Evghenie Carabulea's 61st-minute leveller as FC Hincesti won 2-1 against FC Constructorul-93 Chisinau.
