Members

FC Nistru Otaci moved a step closer to securing a place in the UEFA Cup on Sunday.

Second-placed FC Nistru Otaci moved a step closer to securing Moldova's UEFA Cup qualification place after beating their nearest challengers FC Zimbru Chisinau 2-0 on Sunday.

Groshev goal
Iurie Groshev scored a goal in each half to deliver victory for Nistru, who are now three points clear of Zimbru. A place in the UEFA Cup would go a long way to restoring some pride for Nistru after last week's Moldovan Cup final defeat against FC Sheriff Tiraspol, who also edged them out of the title race.

Agro still fighting
At the other end of the table FC Agro Chisinau's goalless draw with FC Tiligul Tiraspol ensures Agro stay a point clear of the relegation play-off place currently occupied by Tiligul. The team finishing seventh at the end of the season will play off against the second-placed side from the second division to determine which side is in the top division next season.

Champions lose
The other two games today were of little consequence. FC Constructorul-93 Cioburciu beat the newly-crowned champions and cup winners Sheriff 4-2, while already relegated FC Happy End Camenca were beaten 3-0 by FC Hincesti.
