PFC Belasitsa and PFC Cherno More boosted their A PFG survival hopes with wins today.
Relegation focus
With PFC Levski Sofia already crowned champions, the focus has switched to the Bulgarian Professional League relegation group and the fight to stay in Bulgaria's top league is an intriguing one.
Belasitsa state their case
Basement club PFC Beroe are already condemned to second division football next season and the battle to avoid joining them is intense. Belasitsa clinched a vital 3-1 win over Beroe to move out of the drop zone. Gabriel Radoichich opened the scoring after seven minutes and Ventsislav Ivanov doubled the lead in the 36th. Shteryu Dimitrov ended the game as a contest with the third 12 minutes from time before Deyan Bozhilov hit an 84th minute consolation.
Cherno More on top
Belasitsa's win was matched by Cherno More though, who secured a 2-0 victory at home to PFC Spartak Pleven. Goals from Evgeni Kurdov (45) and Omonigo Temile (80) were enough to seal all three points. That result has now brought Pleven into the relegation equation as they drop into the last relegation place with just one match to play.
Litex win again
In the other relegation group match, PFC Chernomorets Burgas and PFC Spartak Varna drew 1-1. In the Championship Group PFC Nafteks and PFC Slavia Sofia shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw while runners-up PFC Litex Lovech clinched an impressive 2-0 away win at PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv.
