FC Dinamo Tbilisi and FC Lokomotiv Tbilisi both won in the Georgian Premier League on Wednesday.

The race for the Georgian Premier League title remains as tight as ever after leaders FC Dinamo Tbilisi and second-placed city rivals FC Lokomotiv Tbilisi both recorded wins today.

Level at the top
Dinamo were comfortable 3-0 winners against FC Dinamo Batumi, while Lokomotiv edged out FC Merani-91 Tbilisi 1-0, leaving the pacesetters level on 40 points with three games to play. Dinamo, who are yet to concede a goal in the championship group, went ahead through a Zurab Archvadze own goal after just eight minutes. A Lado Burduli penalty in the 34th minute and Mikhail Bobokhidze's 66th-minute strike capped a convincing win.

Janashia winner
Lokomotiv sealed all three points against Merani-91 courtesy of Zaza Janashia's goal on 65 minutes. In the other championship group game, FC Kolkheti-1913 Poti and third-placed FC Torpedo Kutaisi played out a goalless draw.

Defeat for WIT
In the relegation group, leaders FC WIT Georgia Tbilisi slipped to a 2-1 defeat at FC Samgurali Tskaltubo. But the defeat mattered little as second-placed FC Sioni Bolnisi were beaten 3-0 at FC Gorda 2000 Rustavi. Elsewhere, FC Guria Lanchkhuti slumped to their seventh successive defeat after going down 3-0 at FC Metalurgi Zestaponi.
