Bosnia-Herzegovnian Premier League champions FK Zeljeznicar ended the season on a high note today with their 18th win of the season after defeating NK Celik 2-1 courtesy of a double strike from Almir Gredic.
Gredic double
Gredic opened the scoring after 12 minutes, pouncing on the rebound after his initial shot hit the post. He added a second in the 52nd minute, scoring with a superb free-kick from 18 metres out. Mustafa Hasanspahic grabbed a consolation for Celik 20 minutes from time.
European issues
Zeljeznicar will play in the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round while NK Široki Brijeg, who drew 1-1 with NK Brotnjo tonight, will enter the UEFA Cup qualifiers after securing second spot.
Going down
Brotnjo took fourth spot and will enter the UEFA Intertoto Cup, while FK Sarajevo, who were held to a 2-2 draw by bottom of the table NK Iskra, finished sixth. Joining Ikstra in the second division next season will be NK Olimpik Sarajevo, NK Troglav and NK Grude.
Other results
Olimpik beat NK Orašje 4-2 but it mattered little as NK Bosna secured their top-flight status with a 2-1 win over NK Jedinstvo. Elsewhere today FK Sloboda Novi Grad scored a convincing 4-1 win over Troglav, who were already relegated before today's games, Grude lost 1-0 at home to NK Posušje, and FK Velez beat HŠK Zrinjski 2-0.
