Champions Hammarby IF FF's poor start to their title defence continued with a 3-1 defeat by IFK Göteborg. Tomas Rosenkvist scored twice for IFK, who moved into sixth place with the victory, the last game before a six-week break for the FIFA World Cup.
Rosenkvist heads second
Defender Mikael Sandklef opened the scoring for the home side after 18 minutes with a half-volley from 18 metres, leaving no chance for Hammarby's debutant goalkeeper from Croatia, Ante Kovic.Rosenkvist headed home the second for IFK on 33 minutes, although Swedish Under-21 international Kennedy Bakircioglu pulled a goal back two minutes later.
Hammarby tenth
The 26-year-old Rosenkvist restored the two-goal advantage ten minutes into the second half with a low shot from ten metres. Hammarby stay in the bottom half of the Allsvenskan table as the teams go into their mid-season break.
