SC Braga of the Portuguese first division have signed the RC Strasbourg defender Nuno Mendes on a two-year contract.
Severed ties
The 26-year-old played most of last season on loan at Portuguese rivals UD Leiria, where he made 16 appearances, but he has now severed his ties with the French club to join Braga who finished mid-table in the league this season.
'Concentrate on improving'
"The player will join us today and next season he will be fully fit to take his place in our squad," said Fernando Oliveira, the Braga president. Mendes added: "Finally I'm free from the Strasbourg link which will help me to concentrate completely on improving myself."
