Sune Andersson, the former Swedish international who won Olympic gold in 1948, has died aged 81.

The former Swedish international Sune Andersson, who won Olympic gold with Sweden in 1948 and a bronze medal at the 1950 FIFA World Cup, has died aged 81.

Vital part of Olympic team
Andersson played 28 times for the Swedish national team between 1947 and 1950 during which time he played in every game at the 1948 Olympic Games in London and also at the 1950 World Cup in Brazil. Andersson, who was born in 1921, played in the Italian Serie A for AS Roma from 1950-52.
