Vasas SC have appointed Barnabás Tornyi as their new coach today to replace Lászlo Kiss.

Vasas SC, the Hungarian first division's bottom club, appointed Barnabás Tornyi as their new coach today to replace Lászlo Kiss.

Excellent CV
Tornyi, 49 years of age, is Vasas' fourth coach of the season and has signed a contract with the club until the end of the current campaign following spells in the NB. 1 with Lombard FC Tatabánya, Gyori ETO FC, Diósgyori FC, Zalaegerszegi TE, Kispest Honvéd FC, as well a spell as with the Hungarian
Under-21 side.

Relegation favourites
The Budapest-based side, eight points adrift of Haladás VFC at the foot of the table and favourites for relegation, fired Slovenian Slavko Kovacic last August and Andras Komjati in December.

Two recent defeats
Under Kiss, Vasas beat leaders MTK Hungária FC in their opening game after the winter close season, but then drew four games before losing to Videoton FCF and Dunaferr SE.

'Impossible mission'
Tornyi's first match in charge of the side will be on Saturday away at Haladás and the coach knows just what a tough challenge awaits him: "There is no harder situation for a coach than this, you can say it's an impossible mission, though it's also a great challenge for me."
