Dunaferr shock MTK
MTK are seven points clear of second-placed Zalaegerszegi TE - but supporters in Budapest will have been less than delighted with their performance against Dunaferr. The visitors took the lead on four minutes when defender Miklós Salamon headed home a corner, only for MTK to level five minutes later through Gábor Zavadszky's 20-metre free-kick.
Late strike
However, that was to be the high point for MTK. They fell behind again on 24 minutes as Ferenc Lengyel latched on to Antal Jäkl's pass to score from 20 metres and Henrik Rósa added a third on 37 minutes. The home side's misery was complete when Thomas Sowunmi made it 4-1 with three minutes of the second half left.
Zalaegerszeg triumph
Zalaegerszeg gained ground with a 3-1 win over Videoton FCF. Defender Zsolt Csóka nodded in Krisztián Kenesei's left-wing cross for the home side's first on 13 minutes, and Kenesei added a second six minutes later from just inside the area. Gábor Földes pulled one back for Videoton soon after the break, but Kenesei provided another excellent ball for Róbert Waltner to score to preserve Zalaegerszeg's two-goal cushion.
Vasas in trouble
At the other end of the table, a 0-0 draw with Ferencvárosi TC did little to ease Vasas SC's relegation worries. But there was relief for fellow strugglers Györi ETO FC who beat Haladás VFC with a superb last-gasp goal from Balázs Farkas.
Joy for Debrecen
In today's other games, Debreceni VSC earned a point against Újpesti TE at the Oláh Gábor stadium. Újpest's young international striker Tibor Tokody headed the opener from Zoltán Szélesi's 29th-minute cross, but an acrobatic Tamás Szekeres strike ensured parity for Debrecen.
Lone goal sinks Sopron
Meanwhile, Lajos Détári's Kispest Honvéd FC hit the only goal at the József Bozsik stadium as Kispest overcame MFC Sopron. Romanian striker Marius Sasu divided the sides in the 78th minute.
