Portugal round-up: Vargas late show

An 86th-minute goal from Miguel Vargas gave FC Alverca a 3-2 win at home to mid-table Vitória Guimarães tonight.

The hosts, who have already been relegated, took the lead after 21 minutes through striker Quinzinho only for Antonio Romeu to level seven minutes later. Rui Borges restored Alverca's advantage five minutes after the interval but the visitors were level again 12 minutes from time when Hugo Cunha struck. A draw seemed to be on the cards until Vargas's late effort.
