The entire board of the French professional league (LNF) have resigned, forcing president Gérard Bourgoin to also leave his post.

Collective resignation
This collective resignation was made by the board members to force president Gérard Bourgoin to quit himself and call new presidential elections. These elections will be held at the LNF's general assembly on 28 and 29 May in Cannes. Frédéric Thiriez has been appointed to run the daily business of the league until the new elections have taken place.

Relationship deteriorated
The relationship between Bourgoin and his board had deteriorated dramatically over the last few weeks. Disagreements over issues such as the distribution of revenue and the selling of radio rights led to the board's decision.
