Georgia round-up: Torpedo come from behind

FC Torpedo Kutaisi maintained their lead at the top with a 2-1 victory against FC Dinamo Batumi.

Title chasers 
The title chasers had to come from behind after the visitors went ahead in the 25th minute through David Janashia. Andrei Poroshin restored parity six minutes before the break, but Torpedo had to wait till seven minutes from time for the winner, Givi Kvaratskhelia applying the all-important finish.

Seven-point lead 
Torpedo have a seven-point advantage over second-placed FC Dinamo Tbilisi and FC Lokomotiv Tbilisi in third after wins for both today. Dinamo needed a solitary strike from Lado Burduli to beat FC Merani-91 Tbilisi while Lokomotiv thrashed FC Kolkheti-1913 Poti 4-1.

Damage done 
Goals from Kakhi Gogichaishvili (13), Roin Oniani (55), Zaza Janashia (69) and Suliko Davitashvili (75) did the damage - Eldar Gvasalia (22) responding for the visitors.

WIT beaten 
In the bottom-six play-offs, FC WIT Georgia Tbilisi's lead was cut to two points after they went down 2-0 at FC Metalurgi Zestaponi. Goals in either half from Gocha Sulakadze (8) and Mirian Getsadze (55) secured the points.

Advantage taken 
Second-placed FC Sioni Bolnisi took advantage with a 2-0 success of their own against FC Guria Lanchkhuti. Irakly Shengelia broke the deadlock on 35 minutes before Shalva Isiani settled home nerves a minute from time. FC Gorda Rustavi and FC Samgurali Tskaltubo play tomorrow.
