Third coach this season
Bianchi will step down as coach to be replaced by his assistant, the ex-Fiorentina player Luciano Chiarugi, for the last five games of the season. Chiarugi becomes their third trainer this term after Bianchi and Roberto Mancini.
Unexpected development
Bianchi said: "The president's job is something I never expected, but when you become involved with a cause like this you have to put everything into it. The first objective is to have a well-run club and a winning team."
Relegation threat
Fiorentina will be relegated if they lose to Piacenza FC on Sunday and results elsewhere go against them.
