PFC Lokomotiv Sofia dented PFC Litex Lovech's title challenge with a resounding 3-1 victory on Sunday.
Velichkov on target
With the top two sides, PFC Levski Sofia and PFC CSKA Sofia, holding each other to a draw on Saturday, third-placed Litex had the perfect chance to close the gap on the leaders. But eighth-placed Lokomotiv completely dominated the match from the outset. Lokomotiv's Doncho Donev hit the post after 17 minutes, but Boyko Velichkov made no mistake ten minutes later as he wriggled his way between several Litex defenders to poke the ball home from close range.
Consolation goal
Four minutes before the break Donev made up for his earlier miss, as was put through one-on-one against Vitomir Vutov, to drive the ball home. Donev claimed his second of the game in the 78th minute after another quick counter-attack, as he raced clear to beat Vutov again. Litex, who were second-best throughout the match, grabbed a consolation goal in the dying seconds of the game when Rosen Kirilov drove home a loose ball.
