Club Brugge KV wasted the chance to go top after losing 4-2 to Sporting St-Niklaas Waasland.

Club Brugge KV wasted their chance to regain top spot in the Eerste Klasse after losing a two-goal lead and suffering a surprise 4-2 home defeat to Sporting Lokeren St-Niklaas Waasland on Sunday.

Genk lead
The defeat means KRC Genk remain in first place with a two-point advantage after they beat R. Antwerp FC on Saturday.

Two-goal lead
Brugge opened the scoring after 26 minutes with a sublime volley from Rune Lange, before Gaëtan Englebert doubled the hosts' lead three minutes later with a fine free-kick.

Lokeren comeback
Lokeren looked deflated as Brugge passed the ball about with increasing confidence, but an own goal by Tjörven De Brul brought the visitors back into the game. Five minutes before half-time Lokeren drew level, Davy De Beule tapping home from close range after goalkeeper Dejan Nemec failed to gather a cross.

Bangoura on target
Sambegou Bangoura silenced the home supporters when he put Lokeren into the lead for the first time after 58 minutes from Patrick Zoundi's cross. Brugge's misery was compounded when Zoundi got on the scoresheet five minutes later, firing the ball into the top left corner to seal the win.

Lierse held
K. Lierse SK struggled to a 3-3 home draw against relegation favourites KSK Beveren at the Lisp stadium. Stijn Huysegems put the hosts into the lead after 18 minutes but they were pegged back when Tomas Danilevicius equalised just three minutes later with a crisp volley.

Shock lead
The visitors then took a shock lead, Danilevicius again providing the finishing touch after a fine run from Zézé Venance. Lierse eventually managed to stem the flow as they got themselves back into the game with another Huysegems effort on 40 minutes.

Red card
The Lier-based clkub found themselves in front three minutes later when Archie Thompson collected Gela Shekiladze's pass and fired his shot underneath goalkeeper Philip Deckers. Stijn Vlaminck earned his side a point with a ferocious shot from distance. Lierse ended the game with ten men when Igor Nikolovski was shown his second yellow card for a foul on Zézé.

Westerlo win away
KVC Westerlo remain in twelfth place, despite a 1-0 away win over relegation-threatened KSC Eendracht Aalst. The goal came in the 26th minute, when a defence-splitting pass from Kevin Vandenbergh found Vedran Pelic in space and he calmly slotted the ball into the far corner.

Fixture postponed
The game between KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen and R. Standard de Liège was postponed due to Standard having four first-team players on international duty at the African Cup of Nations.
