West Ham United FC have completed the signing of Slovakian international left-back Vladimír Labant.
Medical pending
The 27-year-old defender has cost West Ham manager Glenn Roeder €1.5m from Czech side AC Sparta Praha. Labant passed a medical on Friday and will be in the squad to face English FA Premiership rivals Leicester City FC tomorrow.
Thick and fast
"His pedigree is decent – you have to be a very good player to play for Sparta and they are having a very good campaign this season in the UEFA Champions League," said Roeder. As part of the deal the two clubs will play a summer friendly at West Ham's Upton Park stadium.
