Brøndby IF coach Åge Hareide has opted not to extend his current contract with the club.

Danish Superligaen leaders Brøndby IF must search for a new coach for next season after confirming that Åge Hareide will leave the club this summer.

Hareide calls it a day
Club secretary Per Bjerregard confirmed the news on Sunday when Brøndby won an indoor tournament in Copenhagen. "Åge Hareide will under all circumstances finish his career in Brøndby on 1 July if not earlier," said Bjerregaard.

Trophy success
Hareide is set to return to work on Monday after Bjerregaard and assistant coach Lars Olsen were left to take charge of a reserve-packed Brøndby side that won the BT Cup for the fourth successive year.

Tough schedule
Brøndby will have their first training session on Tuesday and training camps in Germany and Spain have been planned to get the side ready for the resumption of league action in March.
