Torino Calcio earned an important 2-1 win away at fellow strugglers Brescia Calcio.
Late winner
Simone Vergassola calmly struck the winner for Torino after a through-ball from Marco Ferrante three minutes from time to give the visitors three vital points and stun the home supporters at the Mario Rigamonti stadium.
Shock equaliser
Brescia had dominated the first half and took a deserved lead on 52 minutes when Argentinian Andres Yllana headed home at the back post from Luca Toni, and they looked on their way to victory until Ferrante fired home from Alessio Scarchilli’s lofted ball after 83 minutes.
Near miss
Torino’s second goal was the cue for a manic last few minutes of action. Torino midfielder Antonio Asta was dismissed for dangerous play with a minute to go, and Giancarlo Camolese's side survived a late scare when a Toni header flashed just over the crossbar.
