Veteran Tottenham Hotspur FC striker Les Ferdinand scored the 10,000th FA Premiership goal on Saturday as Fulham FC were routed at White Hart Lane stadium.

Comprehensive victory
The 35-year-old former England player struck after 19 minutes from Darren Anderton’s pass as Tottenham marched to an impressive 4-0 victory. Anderton added a second goal after 40 minutes, Simon Davies volleyed home a third after 71 minutes and Ukrainian international Serhiy Rebrov completed the scoring after 77 minutes.

Superb away record
Second-placed Arsenal FC had to settle for a 1-1 draw away at West Ham United FC after going behind at Upton Park stadium. French striker Frederic Kanoute put West Ham ahead after 36 minutes but England defender Ashley Cole struck back for Arsenal three minutes later to maintain their impressive unbeaten away record.

Speed the key for Newcastle
Newcastle United FC had to come from behind to overcome Blackburn Rovers FC at Saint James’ Park stadium when David Dunn bundled the ball home to give the visitors a 34th-minute lead. Olivier Bernard scored his first goal for Newcastle after 65 minutes to level the scores before Gary Speed headed home five minutes later to give the home side all three points.

United march on
Manchester United FC completed an excellent week in the Premiership with a 1-0 win away at Middlesbrough FC. Ruud van Nistelrooij scored the only goal of the game, tapping home from close range after Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Crossly had failed to hold a shot from substitute Ryan Giggs.

Southampton revival continues
Meanwhile, Southampton FC continued their recent revival with a 2-0 win against Sunderland AFC at Saint Mary’s stadium. An own goal from Jody Craddock gave the home side the lead before Latvian striker Marian Pahars produced a superb finish to double the lead.

Moore on target for Everton
A 0-0 draw between Bolton Wanderers FC and Charlton Athletic FC saw the London club survive their fourth consecutive unbeaten game, while Joe-Max Moore was the hero at Goodison Park stadium, scoring the only goal of the game as Everton FC overcame Derby County FC.
