Marseille, unbeaten in their last eight matches, dominated for most of the game but were caught twice by counterattacks late in each half. Senegalese international El Hadji Diouf equalised in the 40th minute with a header from a corner while defender Amada Coulibaly headed the winner eight minutes from the end.

Leboeuf penalty
Marseille had gone 1-0 up with a 16th-minute penalty from captain Frank Leboeuf, following a foul on Jérôme Leroy. The win lifts Lens eight points clear of rivals Olympique Lyonnais, whose match against SC Bastia on Saturday was called off due to a frozen pitch.
