The UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) Appeals Chamber has taken decisions in the cases of three clubs that had appealed decisions issued by the CFCB First Chamber on 3 March 2023.
All case concerned the non-fulfilment of the club monitoring requirements set out in the UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Sustainability Regulations, notably, the failure to comply with overdue payable requirements by regulated deadlines.
NK Osijek s.d.d (CRO):
The CFCB Appeals Chamber decided:
- To reject the appeal lodged by NK Osijek s.d.d.
- To confirm the fine of €150,000 imposed on the Club.
- To confirm the Club exclusion from the next UEFA Competition (UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League) for which it would otherwise qualify in 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons. Said exclusion is suspended and shall only be enforced if the Club does not fulfil the solvency requirements at any of the regulatory payment deadlines in the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons.
- To confirm the fine of €450,000 imposed on the Club corresponding to the UEFA revenues the Club gained by participating in the 2022/23 UEFA Europa Conference League.
HNK Rijeka s.d.d (CRO):
The CFCB Appeals Chamber decided:
- To reject the appeal lodged by HNK Rijeka s.d.d.
- To confirm the Club exclusion from the next UEFA Competition (UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League) for which it would otherwise qualify in 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons. Said exclusion is suspended and shall only be enforced if the Club does not fulfil the solvency requirements at any of the regulatory payment deadlines in the 2023/24 season.
- To confirm the fine imposed of €450,000 on the Club corresponding to the UEFA revenues the Club gained by participating in the 2022/23 UEFA Europa Conference League.
SD Nogometni Klub Olimpija Ljubljana (SVN):
The CFCB Appeals Chamber decided:
- To reject the appeal lodged by SD Nogometni Klub Olimpija Ljubljana (“the Club”).
- To confirm the Club exclusion from the next UEFA Competition (UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League) for which it would otherwise qualify in 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons. Said exclusion is suspended and shall only be enforced if the Club does not fulfil the solvency requirements at any of the regulatory payment deadlines in the 2023/24 season.
- To confirm the fine of €100,000 imposed on the Club.
