Article body
FC Zwolle have signed Macedonian international striker Georgi Hristov on a free transfer from fellow Dutch Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen.
Early goals
The 27-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with an option for a further season at the Oosterenk-stadion, where he will fill the void created by Richard Roelofsen's departure to Iraklis FC. Hristov joined NEC from English first division side Barnsley FC in summer 2000, making an immediate impression by scoring seven times in his first three matches.
Knee injuries
He ended that campaign with 15 goals, but knee injuries have slowed his progress in the last two seasons and he lost his place to Frank Demouge. Hristov had spells earlier in his career at Macedonian side FK Pelister and Serbo-Montenegrin team FK Partizan.
