Surprise departure
Guidolin surprisingly left US Città di Palermo earlier this month after leading the Sicilian club to sixth place in Serie A and UEFA Cup qualification. The 49-year-old, who has also coached Atalanta BC, Vicenza Calcio, Udinese Calcio and Bologna FC, has signed a two-year contract with Genoa. The Rossoblù finished top of Serie B to return to Serie A ten years after being relegated from the top flight.
