UEFA has today announced that Just Eat Takeaway.com has renewed their sponsorship of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League through to 2027. The three-year agreement for the 2024–27 competition cycle will also include sponsorship rights for the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Youth League and UEFA Futsal Champions League.
The Dutch company has brought together the enjoyment of food and football to UEFA competitions since 2020 through a wide-ranging partnership spanning 11 UEFA competitions including UEFA Women’s EURO, the UEFA Women’s Champions League and women’s youth competitions as well as UEFA's Together #WePlayStrong programme.
Last year, customers in the United Kingdom placed the highest number of Just Eat Takeaway.com orders on UEFA men’s club competition matchdays while the 2023 UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul between Manchester City and Internazionale Milano was the most popular match for ordering food.
UEFA’s partnership with Just Eat Takeaway.com has also led to collaboration on various initiatives off the pitch, such as Champions Innovate, reducing the use of single-use plastic packaging through seaweed-lined packaging at several UEFA matches and featuring reusable packaging as part of an innovative circular packaging initiative in-line with UEFA’s Circular Economy Guidelines.
Thanks to a successful collaboration based on a shared vision to implement collective action to respect the environment within the context of European football, 270,500 units of sustainable packaging have been provided to fans attending UEFA finals over the past two years.
