UEFA met its member associations today in Frankfurt and presented an update on the future of the UEFA men’s and women’s European Championships and their respective qualifiers. The two working groups, empowered by the UEFA member associations on the occasion of the last Top Executive Programme (TEP) meeting in 2021, are currently working on proposals which aim to reinforce further sustainable football development and the importance of sporting values.
Top executives of European national associations have also received a comprehensive update from UEFA on its ongoing legal process at the European Court of Justice, UEFA’s efforts to protect the European Sports Model, and relevant FIFA matters.
UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin took the opportunity to personally thank all 55 associations for their letters of support for the next elections received in recent weeks, confirming officially that he will run for another mandate at the upcoming UEFA Congress in Portugal in 2023.
