ŠKM Púchov and FC Spartak Trnava were the prime movers on a busy weekend of action in the 1. Liga.

Breska boosts Púchov
UEFA Cup hopefuls Púchov claimed their first away victory of the campaign on Sunday - a 2-1 success at FC Artmedia Petrzalka. Mário Breska provided both goals for the visitors during a four-minute spell midway through the first half.

Kinder consolation
First, Juraj Skripec headed in a Breska centre, then Peter Vavrík added the finish to the midfield player's through-pass. Púchov, who had drawn at FK Atyrau of Kazakhstan in the UEFA Cup on Thursday, conceded a second-half consolation to Petrzalka's Vladimír Kinder.

Spartak spark
On Saturday, meanwhile, league leaders Spartak made it four wins from six games after beating MŠK Zilina 3-1 at the Spartak stadium. Marek Ujlaky's penalty and a Radoslav Zábavník own goal gave Spartak the interval lead before Marek Mintál pulled one back on the hour. However, Vladimír Kožuch scored Spartak's third to lift them four points above Zilina in third place.

Slovan pay penalty
1. FC Košice climbed above Zilina after Martin Obsitník's penalty edged them past ŠK Slovan Bratislava at their Vsesportovny areal stadium.

High five for Dubnica
Elsewhere, FK ZTS Dubnica thrashed MŠK Ruzomberok 5-0 with goals from Petr Lysácek, Juraj Dovicovic, Peter Kiška, Anton Suchy and Ján Sokol. AŠK Inter Bratislava moved into the third-from-bottom position thanks to Miroslav Drobnák's solitary strike against FK Laugaricio Trencín.
