UEFA first vice-president Ángel María Villar Llona has paid tribute to former FIFA President João Havelange, who has died at the age of 100.
"I would like to express our deepest condolences to the family of former FIFA President João Havelange, who has sadly passed away today. I had the pleasure of working alongside João for many years and saw first hand a lot of the work he did to develop and promote football across the globe.
"Having served football for over 40 years, at national level with the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol [CBF] and globally with FIFA, his place in the history of the sport will forever be assured. Football thanks him for the work done throughout his life and career."
