Maniche parts company with Atlético

Former Chelsea FC and FC Dinamo Moskva midfielder Maniche has reached an agreement with Club Atlético de Madrid which has seen the 31-year-old Portuguese international's contract terminated with immediate effect.

'New adventure'
Maniche joined Atlético in 2006, and scored seven goals in 64 Liga appearances for the club, despite a brief spell on loan at FC Internazionale Milano. He helped the Vicente Calderón side reach the first knockout round of this season's UEFA Champions League, and departs with the side lying fifth in the Spanish table. "The Rojiblanco wish him luck in whatever new adventure he soon embarks upon," the club said in a statement.
