The capital club were searching a fourth consecutive Bundesliga win and took the lead after 24 minutes when Andriy Voronin teed up Gojko Kačar but the visitors levelled when Milivoje Novakovič headed in a left-wing cross on the stroke of half-time. There was little goalmouth action after the break but Lucien Favre's charges claimed all three points when Pantelić headed in a late near-post corner.

Hertha, who host Galatasaray AŞ on Matchday 4 of the UEFA Cup group stage with the club currently fourth after two draws in Group B, sit one point behind leaders TSG 1899 Hoffenheim ahead of their home game against DSC Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday. Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Bayern München are three points off the pace in third and fourth respectively and they meet at the BayArena on the same day.
