Winter move
Pinto moved to Barcelona during the winter transfer window with the club paying a €500,000 fee for the keeper's loan with a view to a possible permanent move. The 32-year-old – who made 181 league appearances for Celta – joined the Blaugrana as cover for back-up goalkeeper Albert Jorquera, who had sustained a serious knee injury. He has made three league appearances for the club. Both parties have the option of cancelling the contract at the end of next season. Having finished third in the Primera División, Barcelona will start their 2008/09 UEFA Champions League campaign in the third qualifying round.
