RC Recreativo de Huelva have signed goalkeeper Mariano Barbosa after he cancelled his contract at Villarreal CF.

Villarreal departure
Barbosa, 23, has signed a one-year contract with the option to extend until 2011. The Argentinian joined Villarreal in 2005 from CA Banfield for €2m and debuted in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round against Everton FC. Last season, under competition from Sebastián Viera, Barbosa played eleven times but summer signing Diego López had relegated him to third choice and today he terminated his stay at Villarreal a year early.
