Second signing
The 24-year-old, better known as Lucho, will join the Portuguese side for the 2005/06 season and will play alongside his compatriot Lisandro López, the striker who moved to Porto last week from Racing Club. Porto have paid €3.6m to buy 50 per cent of the player's registration, with Global Soccer Agencies holding the other half of his licence.
Strong shot
Lucho, who helped Argentina win gold at last year's Olympic Games, began his career with CA Huracán in 1998/99 before heading to River Plate at the start of the 2002/03 campaign. He can play anywhere across the midfield and is highly regarded for his shooting ability, as demonstrated by his goal in Saturday's 4-0 victory against Quilmes CA.
