Left in 2001
The 34-year-old Guppy had five months of his Parkhead deal remaining and Leicester manager Mickey Adams moved quickly to bring the left-sided player back to the club he left for Celtic in 2001 - initially until the end of this season.
Appearances restricted
Guppy made just 22 starts for the Scottish Premier League leaders with injury and the form of Alan Thompson restricting his appearances. Leicester, who are struggling at the wrong end of the English Premiership, have also put defender Steve Howey on the transfer list, just seven months after he joined the club on a one-year contract.
