Houllier and Wenger honoured

Arsène Wenger and Gérard Houllier, will be rewarded for their "outstanding contribution to British football".

Honorary awards
The two men will be awarded honorary OBEs (Officer in the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) on 9 July. "With skill and passion, Messieurs Houllier and Wenger have led two of the country's greatest clubs, Liverpool and Arsenal, to glory at home and in Europe," Foreign Secretary Jack Straw said.

'Inspirational figures'
"They have become inspirational figures for many in the English and French game, acting as true ambassadors for Franco-British relations." On Saturday, the British government will announce a full list of honours, granted every year to mark Queen Elizabeth's birthday. England captain David Beckham is also tipped to win an honour.
