Former Manchester United FC and England winger Lee Sharpe has agreed to swap England for Iceland and sign for Grindavík.
One-year contract
The 31-year-old, who has also played for Leeds United AFC and Italian club Sampdoria UC in a lengthy career, visited the fishing village of Grindavik last week, 50km from the capital Reykjavik, and has signed a contract to play for the club during the Icelandic season, which runs from May to September.
Free transfer
Sharpe, who was available on a free transfer, is set to link up with his new club at their training camp in Spain on 5 April. He has been without a club since being released by Exeter City FC last summer.
