Two appearances
The former Cagliari Calcio, SSC Napoli, AS Roma and Juventus FC forward, who has scored 74 goals in Italy, had signed a one-year contract with Como just three months ago. However, he failed to gain a place in Eugenio Fascetti's starting lineup and made just two appearances this season.
Limited opportunities
The arrival of forwards Nicola Amoruso and Luigi Anaclerio at the Sinigaglia Stadium during the winter transfer window have further reduced Fonseca's chances of first-team football. The parting may signal the end of a successful career in European football.
Signs of improvement
