NK Koper returned to the top of the 1. SNL with a 3-0 defeat of lowly NK Primorje.

NK Koper returned to the top of the Slovenian first division at the weekend with a convincing 3-0 home defeat of lowly NK Primorje.

Koper in charge
Igor Benedejcic put Koper ahead on 12 minutes, heading in a cross from Juan Sebastian Vitagliano and doubled the lead on the hour mark. Andrej Tasic hit the third four minutes from time when he rounded Primorje goalkeeper Uros Rutar to latch on to a pass from substitute Zarko Jelicic.

Korotan thrashed
Koper are two points clear of NK Olimpija, who thrashed NK Korotan 4-0, Blaz Puc opening the scoring for the hosts on six minutes. The floodgates, however, opened when Nedim Jusufbegovic grabbed the second on 52 minutes, Dusan Kosic striking the third on 75 minutes before Djenan Jusufbegovic completed the scoring.

Publikum third
NK Publikum stayed third place thanks to a 3-0 defeat of NK Era Smartno, Dominik Bersnjak striking on 14 minutes and Robert Koren hitting a second just before the break. Dragan Cadikovski fired in on the hour to seal victory after a pass from Dominik Bersnjak.

Duro and Pekic score
Samir Duro and Damir Pekic were on the scoresheet as fourth-placed NK Gorica beat Maribor 2-0, while NK Rudar played out a 1-1 home draw against Mura, Josip Ribic giving the hosts a 13th-minute lead before Bostijan Zemljic pulled the match level on 60 minutes.

Triple dismissal
Elsewhere, NK Dravograd defeated NK Ljubljana 1-0 at home thanks to Oskar Drobne’s goal in a match which saw three players – two for the visitors and one for the hosts – sent off.
