Fenerbahçe SK and Trabzonspor will contest next month's Turkish Cup final after progressing from their two-legged semi-final ties against Manisaspor and Antalyaspor respectively.

Fenerbahçe SK and Trabzonspor progressed to the final of the Turkish Cup despite failing to win the second leg of their respective semi-final ties.

Fenerbahçe, a point behind Super League leaders Bursaspor, were held to a 1-1 draw by Manisaspor on Tuesday but go through courtesy of their 2-0 home win in the first leg. Manisaspor went in front in the return through Güven Varol's 15th-minute strike but the score ended level on the night and 3-1 on aggregate following Alex's leveller on 64 minutes.

A 2-0 first-leg triumph also proved enough for Trabzonspor, who lost 1-0 in Wednesday's second instalment against Antalyaspor. Serge Djiehoua scored the only goal just before half-time. The final will be played on 5 May.

Fenerbahçe SK remain within three points of Turkish Süper Lig leaders Bursaspor after recording a 2-0 victory over Kayserispor. Gökhan Ünal and Diego Lugano were both on target as the Istanbul giants kept themselves within reach of the frontrunners, who defeated Antalyaspor 2-1 on Saturday. Another five points back, fourth-placed Galatasaray AŞ travel to Sivasspor on Monday.

Selçuk Şahin was the unlikely hero for Fenerbahçe SK as they won 1-0 at rivals Galatasaray AŞ in the Istanbul derby. The midfielder struck the winner, his first league goal since November 2008, with 20 minutes remaining of his sixth Süper Lig start of the campaign. The victory moves Fenerbahçe two points clear of Galatasaray into second spot, three adrift of leaders Bursaspor.
