Fresh impetus
A 2-1 home defeat by Andalusian rivals Sevilla FC marked the end for Muñoz, who has been replaced by reserve-team coach Manolo Zambrano. Recreativo have gone seven league games without a win and the club said they were eager to "try to redirect the team and reach our objective of avoiding relegation". Muñoz, 50, had been appointed last July. His successor, Zambrano, played for Sevilla, Málaga CF, Real Murcia CF and RC Celta de Vigo as well as Recreativo, but has never coached in the top flight.
