FC Bayern München will be without Bosnia-Herzgovnia midfield player Hasan Salihamidzic for the rest of the season because of a serious knee injury.
Second operation required
Bayern said today that Salihamidzic would be out of action for up to seven months because of damaged right knee ligaments. The 25-year-old, who sustained the injury in a 1. Bundesliga match against VfL Wolfsburg earlier this month, underwent surgery in the United States but will need another operation in January.
Hopes dashed
The 25-year-old had hoped to return in the spring. He suffered the same injury to the same knee 15 months ago and was back playing within four months.
