Former Anderlecht, Twente and Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tioté has died aged 30 after collapsing during training in China.
The Ivory Coast international joined Chinese second-tier side Beijing Enterprises in February, ending a 12-year spell in Europe. He made 29 appearances in UEFA club competitions, most recently helping Newcastle to the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals in 2012/13.
Tioté began at Anderlecht in 2005 and had a season on loan at Roda before linking up with Twente in 2008; he was part of the side that won the club's first Eredivisie title in 2009/10. He moved that summer to Newcastle, where he remained until the start of this year.
