Article body
Hungary have been selected as hosts of the next UEFA European Futsal Championship final round.
Bidders
The final tournament, which is scheduled to occur in the winter of 2009/10, is being expanded to 12 teams from the eight who competed in last month's competition in Porto, won by Spain. Hungary's bid was picked above those of Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey, and means they follow in the footsteps of Spain (1999), Russia (2001), Italy (2003), the Czech Republic (2005) and Portugal (2007) in hosting the finals.
Dual venues
Games in the finals are provisionally scheduled to be staged at Budapest's 8,500-capacity Papp László Arena and Debrecen's 6,000-seater Főnix Arena. Hungary qualified for the first time in 2005 but they have had a representative in the last three finals in the shape of referee Karoly Török.
