Wales will hope that the results of their previous home games against Cyprus are a measure of what is to come as the sides convene for a sixth time in UEFA EURO 2016 Group B.
Match background
• Wales have had the better of their five meetings with Cyprus, recording three victories to their opponents' two. They have won their only two preceding home fixtures against Cyprus – both qualifiers – by two-goal margins.
• Cyprus kicked off Group B with a shock 2-1 away triumph against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prior to that match, they had not scored in nine outings (competitive and friendly). That result ended a run of 16 games without a competitive away victory (D4 L12) since a 1-0 success in San Marino on 22 August 2007.
• Wales manager Chris Coleman played in his nation's sole win in Cyprus, 1-0 in FIFA World Cup qualifying on 14 October 1992.
• Wales have won all three of the countries' encounters in UEFA age-group competitions.
• The only past meetings between the nations' clubs in UEFA competition came in the 1970/71 season when Cardiff City FC beat Pezoporikos FC 8-0 at home and drew the return leg 0-0 in Larnaca.
